„Sometimes one gets dirty and sometimes one works in the laboratory.“
It is the very varied training which Luis particularly appreciates at Feldmuehle. “One can really get to know every corner of the company here. And right from the start, all of my colleagues were unbelievably pleasant to me." After having passed the MSA, Luis is now in his third and final year of the apprenticeship and is following in the footsteps of his father, who has been a works manager at Feldmuehle for many years.
The very varied training also includes block lessons at the vocational school. Then he drives twice a year for 5-8 weeks with his apprentice colleague - and now a friend - to the papermaking school in Gernsbach. Apprentices from all over Germany come together at this location - even from England and Sweden. “It's always a great time. One learns a lot and still has fun. The ratio of men to women, however, is still very unequal at an estimated 90% to 10%. Although women could certainly do the job just as well as the men." And he adds: "You already earn a really good salary during your training."
