Carsten Witt – FROM APPRENTICE TO PRODUCTION MANAGER
„When it comes down to implementing ideas and optimizing production processes, the following applies to me: there is no such thing as impossible.“

"Even as a child, I was fascinated by the paper mill in my neighborhood in Uetersen. A huge factory site with large production halls, truck, rail and ship traffic and, of course, the bulky paper rolls. I often asked myself: what will be made out of them?"

Since 1990, I have learned here exactly what it means to make paper and how versatile it can be utilized in different areas.

My career in telegram style:
1990 Start of apprenticeship as a paper maker (today paper technologist) and in 1993, after passing the examination, initially started as a screen maker, 1994 entrance qualification, 1994-1996 studying as a process engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, 1996 back to the factory at the coating machine (SM2), 1998-1999 attendance at Master's school in Gernsbach with a degree in papermaking, 1996-1999 SM2: 3. Assistant -> 2. Assistant -> 1. Assistant -> Coating assistant -> Machine operator SM2, 2000-2001 Paper machine 2 (PM2): 3. Assistant -> 2. Assistant -> 1. Assistant -> machine operator, PM2 / SM2: 2001 operations assistant, 2005-day shift supervisor, 2008 production manager, 2014 production manager PM1 and PM2 / SM2; I have been the head of production and trainer for paper technologists since 2018. And that therefore rounds it off.”
