Industry and nature in harmony - is that even possible?
The Federal Nature Conservation Act requires that companies create compensation areas for their commercial areas. So why not use these compensation areas to use biodiversity to compensate for the consumption of energy and resources?
Biodiversity is the triad of species diversity, genetic diversity, and diversity of ecosystems.
From April a herd of Skudde sheep will graze on one of our compensation areas. A meadow grazed by sheep becomes a poor meadow that produces numerous wildflowers and herbs, such as cloves, bowl flowers, cuckoo flower, or buttercups. In this way, a poor meadow not only preserves the diversity of plants, its abundant supply of flowers also serves as a food source for butterflies and bees and provides an important protection zone for other small animals and birds.
The Skudde sheep is one of the oldest domestic sheep breeds and is on the red list of endangered livestock breeds. An external employee of the Feldmuehle breeds this endangered breed and is looking forward to setting up his small herd of bucks with us. The fur of these sheep is a forgotten but excellent natural fertilizer, and the fleece is also suitable for felting.
So, we can be happy: The Feldmuehle not only contributes to biodiversity, it is also planned to set up seating around the fence around the pasture area. You could combine your lunch break with a walk and a visit to the "boys" from the sheep herd. The sheep goes "baeh" and the soul dangles.
Laboratory service expanded
The “Robinson test” is not utilized to inspect whether someone is up to the challenge of being locked in on an uninhabited island - based on the novel “Robinson Crusoe” by Daniel Defoe - but rather as a sensory analysis in order to determine the transfer of smell or taste in case of direct or indirect foodstuff contact of a packaging material.Read more
