The train is coming.

For many years, the pulp raw material came to our company by ship via the Pinnau. The company's own rail link now ensures reliable and fast delivery of the pulp, as well as the delivery to and fro of additional goods and products.

The use of the incoming wagons with the main raw material cellulose enables easy reloading with finished goods from paper rolls or format goods on pallets for certain destinations. Transport by rail saves 81% CO2 compared to transport by road (20g/tkm vs. 103g/tkm, source DB). With a target of initially 10% shifting transport from road to rail, this results in a saving of around 400 t of CO2 in the first year. With increasing production volumes and increasing shifting of transport to 20% after 5 years already 5,300 t less CO2 and after 10 years and a further increase to 50% shifting transport to rail, a cumulative 18,000 t savings in CO2 emissions (source: TREMOD 6.03, UBA 1 / 2020). In addition, there is a reduction in trucks on motorways, country roads and in cities and towns, which in turn reduces the increase in traffic jams and the risk of traffic accidents.
